PetParker Stations No Longer Available at Pattison Food Group Stores

Unfortunately, Pattison Food Group has decided to discontinue the free PetParker service at Save-On-Foods and Urban Fare locations as of early August. All stations have since been removed.

Background

In December 2024, the head of BC operations for Save-On-Foods asked us to pause expansion while they reviewed the service with store managers in January.

For the next eight months, we continued offering PetParker at no cost, giving Pattison Food Group more time to recognize its benefits for customers, even as they managed challenges created by the U.S. trade war. During this period, we even turned down requests from Save-On-Foods locations eager to add PetParker stations in response to shopper demand.

That’s why the recent decision came as a complete surprise. It was made without consultation and without consideration of the positive impact PetParker had on customer experience, or of the disruption caused by its removal.

Still, we are proud of what we accomplished together and grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received from communities across Metro Vancouver and the interest that continues to come in from all over Canada.

Since the first installation at North Vancouver’s Lynn Valley Centre, PetParkers have been used over 10,000 times at Save-On-Foods and Urban Fare to keep pets safe, strengthen customer loyalty, and generate glowing testimonials.

How You Can Help

If you’ve been affected by the removal of PetParker, here are some ways to make your voice heard:

1. Contact Save-On-Foods and Pattison Food Group directly to share how PetParker improved your shopping experience and how you feel about its removal.
2. Sign the petition (a user-led initiative) calling on corporate decision makers to reconsider.
3. Leave a Google review about your experience—see examples below
4. Advocate for PetParker elsewhere. When customers speak up, managers listen. Whether it’s grocery stores, drugstores, shopping centres, or even public facilities, your voice helps us bring PetParker to new locations. The most effective way is in person while shopping, but you can also use the contact details we’ve gathered for major retailers here.
